The tradition of English Pantomime has been around for well over a century now. During the Christmas season, theatre companies stage an over-the-top modern retelling of a classic fairy tale with plot twists, wordplay, and popular music. This year however with social distancing restrictions, it’s just not possible to provide a safe, accessible live theatre experience for audiences in person.

We do have a solution – a virtual performance broadcast online via ZOOM! – from the comfort of your own home! No traffic…no dress code….no exorbitant snack bar prices!

Set in 1880s Wild West – “ROBIN THE HOOD – a Wild West Adventure” is written in the style of traditional English pantomime and melodrama. Chock full of twists and turns, showdowns and hoedowns, our hero Robin the Hood tries to thwart the evil Loan Arranger who has his sights set not only on the lovely Marian, the town librarian but also on acquiring the little town of Desperation, Missouri. Thanks to the help of his band of outlaws, a local town sheriff and his trusty deputy and a myriad of other characters, good may just triumph over evil in the end! Throw in some familiar songs, hilarious sound effects and cheesy puns, and you have the fixins for one knee-slappin’ musical comedy!

“ROBIN THE HOOD – a Wild West Adventure”.. is the fourth in a series of original seasonal pantomimes written by Hamilton-born Screenwriter Doug MacDougall who is no stranger to the world of pantomime as both actor/artist and Music/Stage Director with Century Church Theatre in Hillsburgh and a veteran of numerous regional theatre productions in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) over the last 25 years.

Friends, family and theatregoers alike will enjoy this lively and hilarious new take on the legendary story in authentic Panto style. Come out and be part of the action in “ROBIN THE HOOD – a Wild West Adventure”cheering on our heroes, and booing the villains  – don’t forget – pantomime is suitable for all ages!!! The best value in virtual family entertainment!
